About us

Established in 1995, Power Line Kennels was originally a greyhound racing kennel from 1976. Large or small we care for them all. We are not breed prejudice. We have the knowledge and experience to handle any type of dog behavior. Our smaller facility ensures that our boarding guests get the care and attention that they deserve. We are never over booked, keeping our schedule relaxed, laid back, and casual. Our 10 acre dog farm is known as a playful country hideaway by our satisfied customers. It’s safe, fun, casual, and a fair business. For security and privacy reasons we keep our security gate closed. Our boarding guests get to enjoy regular, private, and individual play times, creating a loving and comforting atmosphere.

All employees are well educated in pet behavior and safety. PLK is parasite free due to us truly being disinfectant freaks and very picky neat nicks. We are tour ready at all times. PLK is an open facility with our furry friends being able to see us, so that they do not feel left alone. We genuinely care for the dogs like they are our own. We enjoy talking to our furry eared friends, showing them affection is the one of the best parts of our job.

In 1995, an opportunity presented itself for Laurie Rodden to be at home for her family, work in the outdoors, further her love of dogs and become a small business owner. It seemed like a perfect fit and after all these years she still feels that way! After purchasing her property from her in-laws, Laurie opened a for dogs only, overnight boarding and grooming business. “Power Line Kennels appreciates every customer and truely cares for their dogs. They are a part of our family.” says Laurie “we schedule regular playtime for our boarding guests, having large playpens for excersice and fun. Also having a climate controlled facility keep our guest comfortable.” In addition to taking good care of the dogs for overnight stays, Laurie is also professionally trained as a groomer, pet first aid and CPR certified. Laurie has retired as a groomer as of July of 2009. Having a smaller facility has kept Power Line Kennel’s rates at a fair and reasonable amount. When not working at the business, she can be found playing with her grandkids, sewing, gardening or taking walks with her friends and dogs. ~Laurie Rodden

An endless supply of love for dogs has been the driving force for Tiffany’s career for the years she’s been working at the kennel. As kennel manager. She manages the small facility that concentrates solely on overnight boarding of dogs. “Power Line Kennels is the best kept secret of Sandy” she brags. “Only 3 miles from downtown Sandy, we provide a playful country get away for your dogs while your away. Our kennel is the most loving, caring facility you can find for your dogs.” Tiffany has been trained in pet first aid and CPR, loves all breeds of dogs and cares for your dog like it is her own. Just seeing the dogs’ excitement upon arrival is Tiffany’s favorite part of her job. The kennel is family owned by Tiffany’s mom and her dad owns Sandy Excavating, Inc. When not playing with dogs, she can be found, rafting, snowboarding, hiking, camping or rooting for the Oregon Ducks.
